Sport Industry Charity Challenge

Every year the Sport Industry Group organises the Sport Industry Charity Challenge - an initiative designed to unite the industry to raise funds for a chosen charity through a specific physical and mental challenge.

Having scaled the UK's 3 highest peaks in 2007, the second annual Sport Industry Charity Challenge - the HSBC Private Bank Sport Industry Hannibal Marathon - will see participating teams from companies within the sport industry retrace the footsteps of Hannibal and his band of 40 elephants as they crossed the Alps for their attack on Rome in the 3rd century.

This unique challenge will take participants through 3 European countries - France, Italy and Switzerland - along a gruelling 26.2 mile marathon course. The route crosses two high alpine passes, reaching a maximum altitude of 2537m (8321ft) including 1622m (5321ft) of ascent.
