viagogo has announced it is extending its European ticketing agreement with multiplatform sports media company, ESPN, which will see the international ticketing marketplace continue as the broadcaster’s official ticketing provider.
The deal will continue to allow sports fans access to tickets across a range of sports events throughout Europe as well as providing a secure platform for users to sell their spare tickets to other fans.
viagogo’s head of marketing, Ed Parkinson, said: ‘We are thrilled to be continuing our work with the worldwide leader in sports for ticketing in Europe. ESPN is an organisation as committed as we are to giving fans access to the best live sport and entertainment. We’re delighted to be offering their audience a secure place to find hard-to-get tickets; whether it is for football, rugby, cricket, or any other sport.’
Jehan Shah, associate sales director, ESPN – Europe, Middle East and Africa added: ‘ESPN’s audience is made up of dedicated and passionate sports fans, and this agreement will allow us to continue to provide them with access to tickets to the sports events they love.’
viagogo is also partnered with sports and music properties in Europe including Roland Garros and the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, and has also announced official ticketing partnerships with nine Premier League clubs, 8 Bundesliga teams, as well as clubs from Italy’s Serie A, Spain’s La Liga and the Netherlands’ Eredivisie.
