Arsenal FC has announced a new three-year deal with Nigeria's Sterling Bank, which will see the creation of a range of co-branded debit cards in the country.
Additional benefits from the deal, for which financial terms were not released, will include merchandise promotions and opportunities for Sterling Bank's Nigerian customers to get tickets to the Barclays Premier League side's home matches at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal Soccer School coaches will also participate in youth coaching programmes for Sterling Bank in Nigeria.
Arsenal's head of global partnerships, Vinai Venkatesham, said: ‘We are delighted to be partnering with Sterling Bank, a highly respected financial establishment, to offer Arsenal branded debit cards to our millions of fans in Nigeria. We look forward to building a strong and successful relationship in the years to come.’
Abubakar Suleiman, chief financial officer of Sterling Bank Plc, added: ‘We recognise our customer’s uniqueness and we develop tailor-made solutions that connect with their deepest passion and drive.’
The Gunners are currently playing in Japan as part of a pre-season Asian tour, continuing to expand their brand around the world, following recent deals with Kenya's Imperial Bank and Indonesia's Telkomsel.
The club will kick off their 2013/14 Premier League campaign at home to Aston Villa on 17th August.
