Fiat signs title deal with Yamaha- 7 Mar 2007 00:00:00
Fiat has signed a deal with Yamaha Racing to become the title sponsor of the MotoGP team for the next two years.
The announcement will see the team rebranded as the ‘Fiat Yamaha team’ with the two riders, Italian Valentino Rossi and American Colin Edwards, both sporting the Fiat logo prominently on their apparel.
The presence of Rossi in the Yamaha team was undoubtedly a key factor in the deal with the Italian car manufacturer with the firm looking to build on its national roots.
The Fiat Yamaha Team will contest the opening round of the 18-race 2007 MotoGP championship this Saturday, 10 March, in Qatar.
