GM severs ties with Tiger Woods- 14 Jan 2010 00:00:00
General Motors has severed its ties with disgraced US golfer Tiger Woods ending the agreement that allowed the star to have free access to its vehicles.
Woods's endorsement contract with GM's Buick brand ended in 2008, but an arrangement remained in place that allowed him to keep several GM loaner vehicles.
A GM spokesman confirmed that the arrangement ended on 31st December last year.
Woods has lost a host of endorsement contracts since revelations of infidelity in his marriage broke late last year including deals with Gillette, Gatorade and Accenture.
The allegations have led to the world number one taking an indefinite break from professional golf, though the GM spokesman says the vehicle arrangement had been previously scheduled to end on 31st December.
