Premium ale brand Old Speckled Hen has become the official beer of Sussex County Cricket Club for the next five seasons in a new sponsorship deal.
The deal, which starts in time for the beginning of the 2010 season, will see Old Speckled Hen take up pouring rights at The County Ground in Hove.
As official sponsors, Old Speckled Hen will also invest a considerable amount towards the upgrading of cellar cooling, bar facilities and dispense equipment at the ground.
The investment made by Old Speckled Hen will also focus on engaging the local area with the club throughout the Sussex Supporter Pub Network, to be launched during the 2010 season.
At specially designated pubs, supporters will be able to win cricket-related prizes and also have the opportunity to share a pint of Old Speckled Hen with members of the Sharks team throughout the season.
Old Speckled Hen will play a prominent part on FPt20 match days through its ‘Catch a Six’ competition – giving fans the chance to win a case of the Sharks’ official beer if they can catch a six once it has cleared the boundary ropes.
