competition looks for racing commentators- 27 Jul 2010 00:00:00
Racing for Change, an initiative set up to broaden the appeal of British horseracing, has announced the launch of an online nationwide competition to find the ‘Voices of the Races’.
The search starts to find the new voices of racing starts now, and applications can be submitted though www.lovetheraces.com.
The chosen ‘Voices’ could soon become stars in their own right, as they document their racing experiences using the latest in video, photo and blogging technology.
These ‘raceday diaries’ will be published on a new consumer website for racing, www.lovetheraces.com, which is set to launch in September 2010.
The site will be largely focused on social networking, utilising the popularity of social networking sites and aiming to fill the current void of an online presence for racing, aimed mainly at new audiences and infrequent racegoers.
This online opportunity is open to anyone is charismatic and stands out from the crowd, whether a seasoned racegoer or someone who can’t tell a filly from a furlong.
Applicants will be asked to answer a series of short questions, with the option of uploading a video or some photos to support their claim and showcase their presenting ability.
Applications are open until Friday 27th August, after which time the Voices will be chosen and announced to the public.
