ENDEMOL PRODUCES MAN CITY FEATURE FILM- 9 Sep 2010 00:00:00

Endemol has developed a feature-length documentary film surrounding Manchester City’s first season under Sheikh Mansour's control that is to be shown in cinemas around the country.


The film contains interviews with players, staff and fans and is directed by Bafta-winning director Stewart Sugg.

‘Blue Moon Rising', captures one of the most dramatic seasons in the club's 135-year history – that includes big money signings and managerial departures.

The initial idea was that it would be released it for TV but the ambitions got bigger it is now backed by Buena Vista International.

Fans in Abu Dhabi have also been interviewed for the film as well as Oasis star Noel Gallagher who talks on camera of his lifelong passion for the club.



Producers Endemol Sport is in talks with television companies over worldwide distribution and a DVD is also set to be produced.



Manchester City’s marketing manager David Pullan said the club worked closely with Endemol to produce the film: ‘We wanted to give football fans around the world a unique insight into the club and its future by getting them close to the action in this unique year.’
