Google, EA SPORTS and adidas have come together in order to create a new product which gives recreational football players the chance to gamify their experience through a new connected insole, which can be worn inside football boots.
GMR, which is made by adidas, powered by Jacquard by Google and gamified through EA SPORTS FIFA Mobile, gives users the chance to measure their stats and boost their own Ultimate Team Overall (OVR) score in the process. A chip, which is placed in the insole, measures on-pitch movements such as kicks, shot power, distance or speed and combines with a partner app to log the data.
The connection to FIFA Mobile allows players to complete unique challenges and hit milestones each week, which will allow them to unlocking in-game rewards and improve their ranking in global leaderboards.
According to adidas, the more a player plays in the real world, the better their EA SPORTS FIFA Mobile Ultimate Team becomes.
