Blockchain-based fan engagement company Chiliz has unveiled its new Socios ID product - a know-your-customer identity tool to provide Socios.com users with a unique global ID number that can be used to redeem rewards and other benefits across it's roster of sports teams, including Juventus, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and West Ham United.
The ID is customised based on the number of in-app coins ($CHZ) owned by the user, which will in turn give the owner access to loyalty-based rewards.
Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz & Socios.com said: “Using blockchain to create one unique ID for fans is an amazing use case especially in the sports and ticketing industries.
“Our focus is to launch a product that will be used by fans but more importantly will be connected to some of our partners’ ecosystems.
“This will allow fans to be empowered with their Fan Tokens, but also rewarded with $CHZ and benefits thanks to this card. This strategic move is aimed at reinforcing our leadership in blockchain and sports innovation, by using technology to bring the clubs, sports teams & IPs closer to their global fan bases.”
Socios - which recently partnered with marketing agency Lagardere Sports - has also announced plans to launch a new crypto-to-fiat, pre-paid debit card to allow users to take their $CHZ into the real world.
