Sports technology company StatusPRO has officially announced its first fully licensed NFL football simulation game made for virtual reality headsets: NFL Pro Era.

The game, that will be available on Meta Quest and PlayStation VR, will have players assume the role of quarterback for their NFL team, as you compete in drills and face off against other teams in the league for a chance to play in the Super Bowl. Players will have the chance to such as throw passes, perform a QB scramble, and pick a play from your wristband playbook.

StatusPRO’s augmented and virtual reality products are already used by teams in the NFL.

According to the developer, NFL Pro Era will combine "innovative technology, data, and direct insights from athletes to unlock a unique opportunity for fans and immerse themselves in the NFL Metaverse."

Troy Jones, co-founder and chief executive of StatusPro added, “Utilising player data was a must-have to create a truly authentic NFL player experience. Through our product, fans will feel the excitement of what it’s like to be an NFL quarterback such as Lamar Jackson and stare in the face of a pass rush while maintaining command of the offence.

“Fans will get to experience the energy of thousands of fans cheering in their favourite stadium, while gaining a new appreciation for what it takes to compete at the highest level.”

The company and the NFL both said previously that the NFL Pro Era would complement the current NFL experiences on the market, most notably, EA's Madden NFL series, in addition to a non-sim NFL football game currently in development by 2K.
