Consumer brand investment firm Stonebridge - headed by entrepreneur James Cox, the Founder of Simba Sleep - has made a £7.5 million investment in ‘intelligent sportswear’ brand, Prevayl.

The sports performance brand aims to ‘empower consumers’ with their own biometric data, captured by ‘connected clothing’.

Founded by former personal trainer Adam Crofts - who serves as the brand’s CEO - and serial entrepreneur David Newns - who is its Chair - the brand will launch to consumers in the final quarter of 2021.

The brand will produce smart performance clothing items that will monitor performance and recovery. The technology includes ECG technology to measure heart data, and will also be able to measure breathing data. Prevail says its launch will consist of ‘three distinct elements’: the sportswear, the hardware, and an app which will allow users to track the data.

The new funding will be used to kit out state-of-the-art laboratories and fitness areas with data testing facilities, new hires, garment design, continued innovation and IP creation and developing an infrastructure that will facilitate growth.
