NTT, the Official Technology Partner to Tour de France organiser ASO, will use ‘innovative technology’ to bring fans together for a ‘global stadium experience’ during this year’s behind-closed-doors race.
70 remote NTT employees will operate from five continents to support the three-week long Grand Tour, and will develop a ‘Virtual Zone Technique’ that brings together different technologies to deliver its Tour de France services remotely for the first time.
The company, working with ASO, will create a digital ‘global stadium’ for fans watching at home, and will launch a new AR data app which will allow fans to appreciate the scale of the event in 3D. Fans will be able to watch from above as the peloton rides through the French countryside, while having access to interactive live data on the race.
In addition, the pair will also launch the official Tour de France Fantasy game which will include machine learning predictions provided by the NTT Predictor for every stage.
