Spanish LaLiga club, Real Madrid, has launched a VR app, claiming it as a first for a sports club.
Real Madrid Virtual World is a multi-device application, developed with technology of Astosch in collaboration with Microsoft.
Fans around the world can tour the Santiago Bernabéu, alongside history and content from the club.
The app is available on IOS and Android and connects fans in real time, who can communicate with each other in a virtual stadium.
The app can be used with any smart device, smartphone, tablet and VR glasses, with fans able to walk through rooms, see trophy cabinets, learn about the club’s history, see trophies in 3D, kits and interviews with thousands of unpublished pieces of content.
Another feature of the app is avatars, with fans able to create a customised avatar to take the tour and interact with other avatars via the multilingual chat in real time – the user writes in their chosen language and the recipient receives the message in their chosen language.
In addition, the application is connected to the Real Madrid App, so users who have already downloaded it can access Real Madrid Virtual World through it with a single login in.
