West Bromwich Albion have appointed cloud-based ticketing engagement platform SecuTix and mobile ticketing application TIXnGO as its new ticketing technology partners.
The partnership will see the Championship side pioneer the use of blockchain-secure mobile tickets in football, with systems that will be in place for the 2021/22 season.
The club’s season ticket renewals are currently on sale, and The Hawthorns side will use TIXnGO’s blockchain technology to create a unique, encrypted ticket for smartphones that is ‘completely traceable’, removing the risk of counterfeit tickets and making it easy for fans to ‘transfer or resell securely’.
The platform also includes an option for ‘Covid self-certification’.
The mobile app will integrate with the SecuTix 360° platform, which will manage both ticketing and hospitality for West Brom.
Using SecuTix’s in-built audience management and business intelligence tools, the club aims to improve the fan experience, and will also use it to manage stadium tours, coach travel, some merchandise and support The Albion Foundation, the club’s charitable arm
