Sean Bratches is an executive with three decades of leadership, management and operating experience at multi-billion dollar scale in the media, entertainment, and sports business. He joined Formula One in January 2017, following its acquisition by Liberty Media, as Managing Director, Commercial Operations, part of a three-man senior management team tasked with re-energising the sport.
Before this appointment, Bratches spent 27 years at ESPN and served as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing from 2005 to 2015. Bratches oversaw the first unified sales organisation that represents The Walt Disney Company’s premier collection of sports assets across all media platforms. Credited as one of ESPN’s most influential leaders, he directed ESPN’s two primary revenue streams - advertising and sponsor sales, and content licensing - as well as the research and analytics, marketing, consumer products and events marketing divisions.
Now Bratches is leading the transition of Formula One from a sport to a media and entertainment brand, largely driven through digital innovation.
