Britain’s greatest Paralympic athlete, Tanni Grey-Thompson’s magnificent career spanned 16 years and 5 Paralympic Games. An incredible medal haul of 11 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze established her as one of the most gifted and courageous sportswomen of her generation.  Tanni also won the London Wheelchair Marathon 6 times between 1992 and 2002.

Now retired, Tanni is President of the National Council of Voluntary Organisations, is chair of ukactive and sits on the board of Transport for London and the London Legacy Development Corporation. Made a ‘Dame’ in 2005, she was elevated to the House of Lords in 2010 to serve as a cross bench peer with specialist interest in disability, health and education.
