Nominations for the 2021 edition of The Integrity and Impact Award in association with Dow Jones Risk & Compliance have officially opened, with entries from across the world of sport to be submitted HERE.

Founded in 2018, The Integrity and Impact Award rewards those who have protected the true essence of sport, whether through a commercial or business decision, campaign, agreement, or an individual stance taken.

The recipients of the now-prestigious Award demonstrate exemplary commitment in the areas of fairness, ethics, transparency, or governance that upholds trust in sport.

In 2018, US gymnast-turned-lawyer Rachel Denhollander was rewarded for her courage and determination in speaking up as a survivor of the abuse of Larry Nasser. Manchester City and England star Raheem Sterling was named as recipient in 2019 after using his platform to fight racism in both football and British society.

Most recently, US soccer star and social activist Megan Rapinoe received the 2020 award, honouring the work she did in highlighting racial and discriminatory divisions in the United States throughout 2019 and 2020.

Rapinoe, who took a central role in the US National Team’s win at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, then went on to use her immense platform to challenge the racial and societal issues that her nation had been facing. A celebration of her work can be seen below.

Alex Coulson, Managing Director, Sport Industry Group, said:

“The Integrity and Impact Award in association with Dow Jones Risk & Compliance is such a powerful way to highlight incredible examples of going above and beyond to, put simply, do the right thing. It has become a pivotal part of the Sport Industry Awards, and we’re proud to be able to open for nominations once again. As sport, politics, and purpose become more intertwined than ever before, I’m certain we’ll have some inspiring submissions.”

Guy Harrison, General Manager, Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, added:

“Our intention with this award has always been to shine a light on those who lead the way, as well as those who encourage others within the industry to do the same, and I am delighted to see Megan Rapinoe recognised as an ambassador for integrity and ethics in sport.

“It is essential that good governance and trust in sport are upheld, and we are using our high-quality data and rigorous due diligence to support that effort. We’re excited to take a look at what the 2021 nominations have in store for us.”
