Performance sports brand 2XU has become the official compression partner to Aviva Premiership and European Rugby Champions Cup winners Saracens.
Under the terms of the two-year agreement, squad members will be kitted out for training and playing in a range of 2XU’s compression products that incorporate technology endorsed by the Australian Institute of Sport.
2XU is also associated with Ironman world champion and triathlon Olympic gold medalist Jan Frodeno, taekwondo world champion Carmen Marton, Athletics Australia, Rowing New Zealand, GB Hockey and Swimming Australia. In addition, in the USA, many NBA and NFL teams use 2XU apparel.
James Wilson, general manager, 2XU said: “We’re delighted to be working in association with such a high profile, internationally renowned rugby club as Saracens. With its high attrition rate, rugby is the perfect sport for making effective use of compression garments and we’re excited about the prospect of getting on-going feedback direct from the players as we further develop new products and compression technologies to aid both performance and recovery.”
Phil Morrow, Saracens performance director commented: “Saracens are delighted to have entered a long term partnership with 2XU. As a club we continually look at how we can improve in every aspect of our game, preparation, recovery and in the support of our players. The 2XU products are high quality compression garments that the players love wearing. During a long hard season with lots of training, game time and travel having products that will reduce the risk of injury and provide recovery benefits will hopefully give us an additional edge in the season ahead.”
2XU garments protect against muscle trauma whilst graduated compression engineering provides faster recovery benefits.
