Sky Sports has announced that Alex Scott will co-present Goals On Sunday this season alongside returning host Chris Kamara.
Scott has co-hosted the last two editions of the BT Sport Industry Awards alongside Mark Durden-Smith and has established herself as a leading pundit on Sky and the BBC over the past 18 months. Scott will replace Ben Shephard as Kamara’s co-presenter on Goals On Sunday, a weekly highlights show that features a guest from the world of football.
Last August, Scott became the first female pundit to appear on Sky Sports Super Sunday. She also worked as a pundit for the BBC at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and this summer’s Women’s World Cup in France.
As a player, Scott captained Arsenal and won 140 caps for the England national team.
Meanwhile, Sky has also announced that Caroline Barker has joined its team as a pitch-side reporter, while Eilidh Barbour is another new addition as a presenter of the broadcaster’s SPFL coverage. Laura Woods will also host Carabao Cup coverage this season, starting with Portsmouth’s match against Birmingham City.
Sky’s coverage of the English Football League (EFL) got underway at the weekend. Its first Premier League match of the season will be on Friday, 9th August when Liverpool takes on Norwich City.
Sky Sports’ Head of Football, Gary Hughes, said: “This is set to be our biggest season yet and we've got the best team to share all the stories with football fans across the country.
"We've got more games than ever before and across Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Football, we'll cover every dramatic twist and turn across another glorious season. Our team can't wait to get going, so roll on the new season."
