Arsenal have launched a new campaign which aims to support local businesses and community organisations who surround the club’s north London base, in the postcodes of N5 and N7.
The Premier League side says it is inspired by ‘player-business partnerships of yesteryear’, and will facilitate members of its current men’s and women’s teams to pair up with local businesses to raise awareness of their services and drive footfall on and around matchday.
Ahead of the club’s home game against Norwich City, centre-back Rob Holding (pictured above in action against Chelsea) will kick off the initiative with The Tollington Arms on Hornsey Road, N7.
To mark the return of fans, the 2020/21 season will see other local businesses partnered with Arsenal players to create adverts designed to promote the businesses’ services.
The club says a variety of local businesses feature in the series, some of which will be well known to Arsenal fans and some which ‘need the extra support and awareness’.
Along with the adverts which will be aired across the businesses’ and club channels - including the stadium’s big screens - the businesses will be part of Arsenal’s fixtures at Emirates Stadium and feature on the perimeter boards and inside the matchday programme.
“This is one of a number of ways we are supporting the local community,” said Arsenal CEO, Vinai Venkatesham.
“After listening to the local businesses involved, it was clear there was one thing in particular they needed – awareness. So we got to work on creating a series of adverts in partnership with them which will hopefully ensure every Arsenal fan knows who they are and how they can use the brilliant services they offer.”
