Tell us about yourselves....

"Coca-Cola Great Britain is the local business responsible for a portfolio of 20 brands of soft drinks, from the name on the door, Coca-Cola, to Schweppes, smartwater, Fanta, Sprite, Appletizer, fuze tea and Oasis and we’ve been supporting programmes which invest in the wellbeing of communities in GB for many decades.

"Our bottling partner, Coca-Cola European Partners, manufactures the vast majority of our drinks here in six sites from East Kilbride to Sidcup so we have employees living all over England, Scotland and Wales."

Why do you think you made the shortlist?

  1. "ParkLives has shown impacts way beyond increased physical activity – touching on mental health, loneliness, self-efficacy, community cohesion and economic benefits
  2. "It’s an innovative public-private partnership model with bottom-up tailored delivery – and all for free
  3. "It has real longevity and scale – we’ve been established since 2014 and have had over 1 million attendances to date."

What made this a great project to work on?

"There have been so many amazing and humbling stories of the positive impact ParkLives is having on people of all ages and backgrounds in communities all over the UK – bringing them together, helping them make friends, raising their spirits, supporting them through tough times and enabling them to enjoy the wellbeing benefits of the park activities.

"We’ve seen so many inspirational session leaders bringing their passion and enthusiasm into local parks and helping people to get more enjoyment out of their visit: surprising and delighting them to discover their own potential.

"And it’s been so much fun to work together with dedicated, enthusiastic and authentic teams of people from local authorities and third sector organisations all over the UK."

Who was the MVP on this project?

"Liz Lowe – project leader"
