COPA90 has launched a new women’s football show, entitled That’s The Tea, which will feature women’s football personalities and in-depth analysis of the sport around the world.
The show’s first episode was hosted by sports presenter Nicole Holliday, with guests including current West Ham player Julia Simic, DJ and former Chelsea player Monki and Rachel O’Sullivan from women’s football platform Girls on the Ball.
With its name inspired by Alex Morgan’s tea-sipping celebration after her goal against England in the 2019 World Cup semi final, COPA90 says the half-hour show will feature “players, influencers, grassroots characters and change makers,” covering the Barclay’s FA Women’s Super League as well as the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the National Women’s Soccer League in the USA.
COPA90 says awareness of its brand among women’s football fans doubled during the FIFA World Cup as a result of its coverage. The launch of That’s The Tea comes on the back of the successful competition, which showed the public interest in women’s football and the wider stories in the game, making household names of the likes of newly-crowned The BEST FIFA Player of the Year Megan Rapinoe.
