European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) has appointed Designwerk as its new creative agency.
EPCR, the tournament organisers of the Heineken Champions Cup, the European Rugby Challenge Cup and European Rugby Continental Shield, have been searching for an agency to support its new brand and marketing requirements.
The news follows the return of Heineken as the title sponsor of the European Champions Cup, announced last week.
Designwerk will support EPCR in raising awareness, interest and perception of the tournaments, and in particular the Heineken Champions Cup. Branding packages will be shown across all touchpoints, as well as communicating EPCR’s mission of ‘creating outstanding rugby experiences’.
EPCR marketing and commercial director, Carsten Couchouron, commented: “Designwerk’s track record working with some of the top names in world sport contributed to our decision to hire the agency, as well as their ability to demonstrate innovation and creativity, engage stakeholders, their zest for rugby, and proven multi-tasking across several different media. Their credentials dovetail nicely with the business objectives of EPCR.”
Bobby Hare, new business director at Designwerk, added: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as EPCR’s new creative agency. They have established themselves at the very forefront of rugby, with an incredible event portfolio and an amazing fan base. We are very excited by the value we can bring to the partnership.”
EPCR joins a growing roster of sport clients at Designwerk, which also includes the Laver Cup, The Open, The Hammer pro-cycling series, the new multi-sport European Championships, as well as the last five UEFA Champions League Finals.
