Scottish Rugby has made a bid to host a British and Irish Lions warm-up game ahead of the 2021 tour to South Africa.

The proposed match, scheduled for late June, would be the first time the British and Irish Lions have ever played on Scottish soil.

The Welsh and Irish federations are also understood to be interested in hosting the match, but the date of the Premiership Grand Final means the match is unlikely to be held at Twickenham.

Footwear brand Skechers has enlisted Jamie Redknapp to appear in its men’s lifestyle campaigns starting this spring.

The retired footballer and current Sky Sports broadcaster will be the first lifestyle collection endorsee that the global footwear brand has signed specifically for Europe and will front a campaign to raise awareness of the brand’s athleisure range in the UK in particular.

Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund, Mumtalakat, has partnered with British motorsport group Prodrive to enter a team into the 2021 Dakar Rally.

The new company, a joint venture between the pair called Prodrive International, will develop a car specifically for the event which takes place in Saudi Arabia in 2021. 

Two rally cars will be manufactured and operated annually by the new organisation, who will also produce other customer cars and offer a range of performance parts and body kits as accessories for clients. Prodrive International has also retained global sports marketing group CSM Sport & Entertainment to develop marketing and commercial partnerships for the new team.

Max Whitlock has been announced as an ambassador for Sport Relief, as part of his partnership with BTEC Sport.

British mouthguard manufacturer OPRO has signed new deals with New Zealand Rugby League (NZRL) and Major League Rugby (MLR).

The NZRL deal is a three-year agreement which will see every single registered player in New Zealand between the ages of 6 and 12 given a free Snap-Fit mouthguard. Meanwhile, OPRO's deal with MLR means it will supply every player from each franchise with top-level mouthguards.
