Industry Shorts: British Paralympic Association, England Rugby

Carphone Warehouse Co-Founder David Ross has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of British Paralympic Association.

The entrepreneur and philanthropist is also a board member of the BOA and brings board-level experience from similar previous positions with the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012 as well as the London Legacy Development Corporation and Commonwealth Games England. 

England Rugby and O2 Inside Line, the RFU sponsor’s podcast, has appointed digital production agency The Media Bunker to produce its podcast, live-stream and video content until September 2021.

The deal extends The Media Bunker’s partnership with O2’s thread of rugby content, on which it has provided a full-service production service since 2016.

Milan-Cortina, the host venue for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games has officially founded its organising committee.

The Milan-Cortina 2026 Foundation will consist of 22 board members from the Italian National Olympic Committee, officials from the local Lombardy region and a member of the Italian government. 

The announcement comes as IOC officials begin a visit to Lombardy to see the host city.

The French Football Federation (FFF) is seeking UK and other international tech start-ups to apply for the second FFF Innovation Awards.

The awards, which will be presented as part of Global Sports Week Paris at the Louvre in February, will see winners given the opportunity to pitch to delegates and potentially collaborate with the FFF in developing solutions for the governing body of football in France.
