Fans in the English Football League (EFL) have voted Preston North End, Doncaster Rovers and Exeter City as the best away-day experiences for the 2018/19 season.

The EFL Away Fan Experience Campaign measures the experience of away fans and gathers views from visits spanning all 72 EFL clubs, with Preston, Doncaster and Exeter coming top of the table in the Championship, League One and League Two, respectively.

Fans were asked to report back on touchpoints such as first impressions, quality of refreshments and the stadium experience.

Over 1.5 million away fans attended matches across the 2018/19 EFL campaign, marking the third consecutive season that this figure has been surpassed.

Formula One team Alfa Romeo Racing has signed a Europe-focused deal with betting group Betsson.

The agreement began with the weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona and covers all further European events throughout the 2019 season.

Betsson will serve as the official European betting partner for Alfa Romeo Racing, with the multi-faceted deal covering brands such as Betsafe, Betsson and StarCasinò. Betsafe’s branding appeared on the team’s cars during the Spanish Grand Prix.

Bolton Wanderers has entered into administration and will begin the 2019/20 season with a 12-point deduction in League One.

The EFL confirmed that it had been formally notified that administrators have been appointed at the club, which finished the 2018/19 season 23rd in the Championship.

Bolton had been given two weeks to appoint an administrator after appearing at the High Court last week over an unpaid tax bill of £1.2m. Paul Appleton and Asher Miller of David Rubin & Partners have now been appointed as joint administrators of the club.
