Liz Nicholl CBE, CEO of UK Sport, has announced her intention to stand for the Presidency of the International Netball Federation (INF). Nicholl, who was last week honoured with the Coutts Lifetime Achievement Award at the BT Sport Industry Awards 2019, is being nominated for the position by England Netball.

In November 2018, Nicholl announced her plans to step down after nine years as CEO during the summer of 2019 following 20 years in a leadership role at UK Sport. A former international netball player, Nicholl held the position of CEO at England Netball for 16 years before joining UK Sport and during that time was also the Championship Director for the 1995 World Cup.

Molly Rhone’s term as the current President of the INF ends at the conclusion of this year’s Vitality Netball World Cup 2019 in Liverpool. The INF Congress will elect a new President when it meets in Liverpool on 10th July 2019.

Big Red Cloud has become a Match Official Partner of club rugby union competition the Guinness Pro14 through a deal that will see the online accounts company take over the sponsorship space on the back of the referees’ jerseys.

Big Red Cloud’s logo will make its debut in the Guinness Pro14 Final Series this weekend. The company has also signed up as a sponsor for the 2019/20 season and will be a supporter of the championship’s team of referees as the partnership promises to increase funding for the Match Official programme.

Golf retailer, American Golf has agreed a partnership with the European Tour that will see it deliver Fan Experience Zones at this year’s British Masters, BMW Championships and Scottish Open.

As an official sponsor and fan experience partner of the Tour, American Golf will deliver experiential activities at each of the events that are designed to be fun, easy to try and engaging for a range of fans.

Halfspace, the data-led marketing agency for the sports and entertainment industries, has formed a new agency group to deliver marketing and commercial campaigns for rights-holders and clients.

The group structure involves four other leading independent agencies – ingredient, Fenixx, Tradespotting and Scale. All of the companies in the group are aligned and powered by Halfspace data services and digital campaign expertise across the marketing sectors of data, creative, content and media. 

Over the past year, Halfspace has been appointed to work across digital campaigns by numerous clients, including Harlequin FC, Brentford FC, Envision Virgin Racing, Autosport and Motorsport Live.

KORE Software has announced that the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL American football franchise has selected the company’s Data Warehouse & Analytics, Ticketing & Fan Engagement, and Sponsorship & Partner Engagement applications to upgrade the team’s data warehousing, CRM and business intelligence platforms.

In addition to staff in Jacksonville, the sponsorship team at Premier League football club Fulham will also take advantage of KORE’s Sponsorship & Partner Engagement platform. Fulham and the Jaguars are both owned by Shahid Khan.

Sports technology company FanDuel and sports data and content provider Sportradar have extended their partnership to bring live streaming to FanDuel Sportsbook’s sports betting app in the US.

FanDuel will roll out a portfolio of live sporting events including tennis from around the world and European football via Sportradar’s Live Channel Online. This will be the first time US consumers will have the chance to watch live action from within their betting app.

Parallel, the world’s first inclusive mass participation event, has announced its return on 28th June 2020 in Windsor Great Park, England.

Subject to contract, Parallel Windsor will become the organiser’s new flagship event, which will host its range of multiple distances – 100m, 1K, 5K, 10K and the innovative Super Sensory 1K. The format of the event will also include a free-to-attend festival of inclusivity.
