Just Eat, and its parent company Takeaway.com, have appointed Dark Horses for the activation of its global sponsorship of UEFA EURO 2020.
The agency will be globally responsible for activating four elements of the takeaway brand’s sponsorship agreement of the tournament, which is scheduled to take place in 12 different countries across Europe, with the semi-finals and final set for London’s Wembley stadium.
The global food delivery platform appointed the agency following a competitive pitch process, and says it chose the London-based agency because of its experience working with UEFA as well as its knowledge of national sporting events.
Robin Clark, Director of Global Partnerships and sponsorships at Just Eat Takeaway.com, said: “We were looking for a creative partner for this account with in-depth knowledge of working with UEFA, backed by expertise and experience in creating great work at a high-intensity national tournament - Dark Horses met the brief in every respect.”
Melissa Robertson, CEO at Dark Horses, added: “It’s an honour to be representing Just Eat Takeaway.com as one of the major sponsors of UEFA EURO 2020. The tournament will be a massive cultural moment bringing people together across the continent, most of them watching on TV at home. A slap-up take-away will be an integral part of the experience and Just Eat Takeaway is the perfect route to delivering joy to hungry fans across the tournament.”
The news follows the appointment of Dark Horses to handle the global activation of TikTok’s recently signed deal to sponsor the same tournament.
