Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has appointed Marc Armstrong as its new head of sponsorships.
Armstrong joins the top-tier French club from the National Basketball Association (NBA), where he served as vice president of marketing for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA).
During his time at the NBA, Armstrong’s responsibilities included leading business development through the sale of integrated marketing and media platforms and finding new corporate partners.
In addition to the NBA, Armstrong was commercial director at the National Football League (NFL) for two years and spent ten years at the FA as head of business development.
PSG announced the appointment shortly before the club agreed a new multi-million euro deal with Desports, an Asian sports marketing agency, in a bid to grow their brand in China.
The club is currently 14 points clear at the top of Ligue 1, winning 25 of 29 games this season, but crashed out of the UEFA Champions League in the last 16 against Real Madrid last week.
