Mentos, an official sponsor of BT Sport Rugby Aid in association with The Sun, has unveiled branded crossbars that will be used for Friday’s charity rugby match at the Twickenham Stoop.

The crossbars for the game, which will see an England side take on a rest of the world XV, have been designed to represent a Mentos fruit roll at one end with a Mentos Mint roll at the other.

According to the brand, it is believed to be the first time a rugby crossbar has been branded in this way, with Rugby Aid also set to be televised live on BT Sport.

Mentos brand manager Claire Powley said: “We’re really proud to be sponsoring Rugby Aid and are delighted with how the cross bar posts look ahead of the big kick-off. Mentos are perfect for sharing so where better to enjoy them than at a sporting occasion like Rugby Aid. We’re looking forward to seeing fans making fresh connections in the stands on Friday night!”

Rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindall and McBusted star Harry Judd are among a host of former international players, celebrities and serving members of the armed forces set to battle it out in the inaugural Rugby Aid charity match, in association with The Sun.

The England team will be captained by Tindall and will include some of his former World Cup-winning team-mates alongside celebrities such as JLS’ JB Gill and England international goalkeeper David James.

The Rest of the World team will contain former British & Irish Lions stars Ronan O’Gara, Geordan Murphy and Shane Williams.

All proceeds from the game will go to Rugby For Heroes charity.
