Fantasy sports platform, Mondogoal, has added Premier League football side Tottenham Hotspur as its latest team partner, joining a growing list of European clubs as team partners promoting the club-branded fantasy football game.
The Tottenham Hotspur version of Mondogoal will debut in time for the start of the 2015/16 Premier League season at www.mondogoal.com/spurs.
The Mondogoal platform will be promoted across Tottenham Hotspur’s digital channels, including the website and official Facebook page.
The club claims an estimated global fanbase of 400 million, growing increasingly in North America, where Tottenham Hotspur now has over 40 official supporters clubs, and competed in this week’s showpiece Major League Soccer All-Stars match in Denver, Colorado.
The MLS All-Stars beat the travelling London club thanks to first half goals from Kaká and David Villa, with Harry Kane netting (above) for Spurs.
The club has also recently agreed a ten year partnership with the National Football League that will see a minimum of two NFL games per year played at Tottenham Hotspur’s proposed new stadium, due to open in 2018.
Shergul Arshad, CEO of Mondogoal, said: "We are excited to partner with one of the leading clubs in English football, Tottenham Hotspur.
“Tottenham's rich tradition of playing entertaining and attacking football and the Club’s exciting plans for the future - including its partnership with the NFL and new stadium expansion – means we cannot think of a better fanbase to push fantasy football to throughout the world."
Aidan Mullally, head of business development, Tottenham Hotspur, added: "There is no doubt that fantasy football gaming is a growing engagement platform around the world, and we are proud to be able to offer this innovative opportunity to our fans through a partnership with Mondogoal.”
Mondogoal is licensed to operate globally and is the only daily fantasy sports site available for cash play in multiple major markets around the world with specific emphasis on the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Ireland, and Brazil.
Data analytics for use by consumers are compiled in real time by Perform’s Opta Sports, with points awarded for goals, assist, tackles won or lost, shots on goal, passes completed, shutouts and much more.
Mondogoal runs contests on a daily or matchday basis for La Liga, Premier League, Serie A, Major League Soccer, Ligue 1, the FA Cup, European Championship Qualifiers and the prestigious Champions League, Europa League and World Cup.
