Following the unprecedented acclaim for Raheem Sterling after winning The Integrity and Impact Award at the Sport Industry Awards in 2019, the prestigious honour now returns for a third consecutive year.

The Award – which was founded by Dow Jones Sports Intelligence to celebrate exemplary levels of ethics, integrity and trust in sport – is now open for nominations and is welcoming any individual or organisation that is helping to set global standards within sport governance and business.

Last year, Sterling was widely praised by the sport industry for his fight against racism in both football and wider society by using his platform as a Manchester City and England star to highlight the issues and call for greater social inclusion and diversity.

In 2018, the award’s debut year, gymnast Rachael Denhollander was honoured after she became the first survivor to speak out against disgraced doctor Larry Nassar.

After just two years the award has created international debate, positive impact and global media coverage and now nominations are OPEN NOW for the next worthy recipient.

Meanwhile, the remaining categories at the Sport Industry Awards 2020 are open now for entries so don't miss out on your opportunity to take home a trophy in 2020.

Simon Greenberg, Head of Dow Jones Sport, said: “In our first two years, I am immensely proud that our winners, Rachel Denhollander and Raheem Sterling, have been such standout examples and ambassadors for integrity and ethics in sport. It is essential that good governance and trust in sport are recognised, and we are using our high quality data and rigorous due diligence to support that effort. Our intention with this award is to shine a light on those leading the way and encourage others within the industry to do the same.”

Nick Keller, Chairman of Sport Industry Group, added: “Doing the right thing, whether that be in sport or wider society, is increasingly important in a fractious and divided world, and when someone is out there walking the walk it is critical we reward it. There are some incredible figures and businesses using their platform for good and it is both essential and an honour to recognise this through The Integrity and Impact Award founded by Dow Jones Sports Intelligence.”

Created by Dow Jones Sports Intelligence, the first service of its kind designed specifically to perform due diligence across the whole range of sport industry relationships, the Award will reward those who have protected the true essence of sport.

Whether through a commercial or business decision, campaign, agreement or an individual stance taken, the recipient will have demonstrated exemplary commitment in the areas of fairness, ethics, transparency, or governance that upholds trust in sport.

The nominees can be any individual, group or organisation whose actions have created a positive impact resulting in tangible progression or protection of the integrity of the entity, sport or issue involved.
The recipient of the award will be unveiled at the Sport Industry Awards 2020 – the industry’s biggest night of the year – on Thursday 30th April, after a stringent four stage judging process which begins with industry nominations until Friday 31st January 2020.
