Specialist UK sports protection manufacturer OPRO has announced the extension of its long-term partnership agreement with New Zealand Rugby (NZR) as the All Blacks prepare to take on England at Twickenham this weekend.
The deal – the latest in a string of international partnerships signed by OPRO – will see the mouthguard manufacturer provide protection to players throughout the NZR elite performance programme.
The agreement covers the All Blacks, Black Ferns, All Blacks Sevens and Black Ferns Sevens teams, Maori All Blacks and Under 20s teams.
As part of the expanded partnership, OPRO has also been granted the rights to produce officially-licensed NZR-branded mouthguards for sale to the general public, as part of the brand’s self-fit range.
OPRO chief executive officer David Allen commented: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with New Zealand Rugby who always strive to foster and produce the world’s best talent.
“OPRO have been involved with the sport of Rugby for 21 years and we are proud to continue our partnership with this world leading, iconic sports organisation.
“With the World Cup just around the corner, we are honoured to be supplying elite players with the very best protection for their teeth.”
The news follows OPRO’s recent signing of new partnerships with USA Taekwondo, the national governing body for Taekwondo in the USA, and USA Wrestling.
OPRO has also added the USA’s Junior Taekwondo World Champion Anastasija Zolotic to its roster of brand ambassadors. The teen won silver at the recent Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, competing with a broken hand.
