The PDC has appointed SoapBox London as its communications agency.
SoapBox will be tasked with growing the darts organisation’s media reach, including player profiles, events, and news moments, as well as its corporate profile, and will aim to present the PDC and its players to new audiences.
The PDC joins SoapBox’s client roster, which currently includes elite athletes such as Anthony Joshua, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Maro Itoje, Eddie Hearn and W Series Champion Jamie Chadwick, as well as organisations Matchroom Boxing, Turkish Airlines and The Omega European Masters.
“We are delighted to be working with Matt and his fantastic team at the PDC,” said Andy Bell, Founder, SoapBox London.
“Darts is part of the fabric of British culture and we are looking forward to working with the team to grow the sport in new areas.”
Matthew Porter, CEO, PDC, added: “We’re excited to be teaming up with Soapbox to further develop the profile of darts and our star players. Despite the pandemic, we’re going from strength to strength as a sport and we look forward to our stories and personalities reaching an even wider audience.”
Meanwhile, the PDC has also announced a new partnership with consumer sports travel provider, Sportsbreaks.com, as part of a three year deal to provide travel packages to the sport’s most prestigious events when travel returns.
The travel company will sell ticket-inclusive travel packages to the likes of the 2021/22 William Hill World Darts Championship, held in December & January at Alexandra Palace in London, the Betfred World Matchplay, Premier League, World Grand Prix, and the US Darts Masters.
