Football DataCo, the business that manages and commercialises the official match data for the Premier League, EFL and Scottish Professional Football League, has announced it has renewed its exclusive deal with Perform Group until 2018/19.
The three-year deal will see Perform’s Opta and RunningBall continue to operate as official media and betting data partners of the eight leagues and competitions covered by Football Dataco and includes exclusive global distribution rights.
Sports media company Perform purchased RunningBall in 2011 and Opta in 2013 and now works with broadcasters, clubs, brands and betting operators across the world of sport.
Official accreditation at stadiums will allow RunningBall and Opta to continue to collate detailed and accurate real-time data.
Ross MacEacharn, CEO Perform Content, said: “I am very pleased to be continuing our excellent relationship with Football DataCo and the leagues. Our Opta and RunningBall operations are well known market leaders in their business sectors, respectively media and betting. Our clients will be pleased that we will continue the distribution of this data for a further three years beyond the current term.”
