The Rugby League World Cup 2013 (RLWC2013) has announced partnerships with MyClubBetting.com, Gatorade and Thirsty Planet.
Gatorade will become the Official Sports Drink, Thirsty Planet the Official Water Supplier and MyClubBetting.com the Official Betting and Gaming Partner to the tournament which kicked off on Saturday at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
The sponsors will receive branding on the pitch-side perimeter boards and around the dressing room. Thirsty Planet’s logo will also be visible during press conferences while Gatorade’s will be displayed within the team dug-out area.
Gatorade UK marketing manager, Alex Armstrong, said: ‘Naturally we are very pleased to add Rugby League World Cup 2013 to our portfolio of elite partners. We are happy to play a small part in the players’ on-pitch performance and look forward to a fantastic tournament.’
Nicky Reeve, head of marketing at Thirsty Planet, said that RLWC2013 had made a donation to company’s Pump Aid charity: ‘We are delighted to announce that as part of the sponsorship, the Rugby League World Cup will be making a generous donation to Pump Aid, which will contribute towards two elephant pumps for communities in Africa. We’re looking forward to a great competition with a lasting legacy for both organisations and for communities both here and abroad.’
The partnership with MyClubBetting.com is part of a wider agreement with The Betting Service which provides bespoke betting websites for sports right holders which gets a share of the profits.

England lost their opening match to one of the tournament favourites Australia and will play Ireland on 2nd November in their second group match of the competition.
