More than 6,000 people have been interviewed for volunteer roles at this summer’s ICC Cricket World Cup, following a record response to an international cricket recruitment drive.
Event workforce platform Rosterfy has been used to help deliver the 4,000 volunteers needed to support the event, which begins at The Kia Oval in May.
Those chosen as World Cup “Cricketeers” will carry out a variety of roles across each of the 11 host venues and cities in England and Wales – positions including spectator services, broadcast & media, transport, rights protection, hospitality and accreditation.
Rosterfy’s centralised online platform helped to streamline the selection process by reducing manual processing hours, following the launch of an international recruitment campaign last May.
The company will continue to work with tournament organisers to deliver on recruitment, online training and shift management for World Cup Cricketeers.
It has previously worked with a variety of global sporting events, including the Super Bowl, Commonwealth Games and Rugby League World Cup.
Rosterfy is also currently supporting other major events taking place in the UK this year, which include the UCI Road Championships Yorkshire 2019 and Netball World Cup 2019.
Shannan Gove, Co-Founder of Rosterfy, commented: “To look after such large volunteer programmes takes a great combination of skilled and passionate practitioners, and industry-leading technology that is proven to provide the volunteers with the best experience possible – as they really are the heartbeat of every major event around the world.
“UK sports have been doing an incredible job of attracting world-class events and it really is a great honour to power the workforce system behind the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, one of the world’s biggest sporting tournaments.”
The news follows the confirmation towards the end of last year that London Marathon Events (LME) had also appointed Rosterfly in a long-term partnership.
Rosterfy, which recently opened an office in London, will see its platform deployed across all events organised by LME, including The Vitality Big Half, the Virgin Money London Marathon, Vitality Westminster Mile, Vitality London 10,000 and Prudential RideLondon.
