The Royal Parks Half Marathon presented by Royal Bank of Canada has announced plant-based health drink TENZING as its Energy Partner for this year’s race. 

The partnership is designed to enable TENZING to communicate directly with the running community and showcase its product as an alternative to sugar-laden synthetic drinks. 

Finishers of the 13.1 mile race – which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year – will be able to sample TENZING’s drink – a product inspired by simple Sherpa teas and filled with naturally sourced caffeine, Vitamin C and electrolytes.

In total, 16,000 people are expected to cross the finish line at the race, which was shortlisted for the BT Sport Industry Award Mass Participation Event of the Year in association with Miller in 2018.

Huib Van Bockel, founder of TENZING, commented on the deal, saying: "We are so proud to be the official Energy Partner of the Royal Parks Half Marathon. 

“We want people to know that energy purely from plants does not mean you have to compromise on zing."

The Royal Parks Half Marathon takes runners through some of London’s Royal Parks including Hyde Park and St James’s Park and iconic landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and the Houses of Parliament.
