Sport and Entertainment management agency KIN Partners has announced a deal with former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o.

The former Cameroon captain retired in 2019 after a 22-year career which saw him score more than 350 club goals on his way to winning four domestic club titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies.

The partnership with KIN sees the global talent and commercial agency assume responsibility for his personal and professional interests, as he looks to leverage his global standing to build his off-field legacy through ‘philanthropic and purpose-driven’ campaigns.

As part of the relationship with KIN, Eto’o will support the company’s fast-growing football representation business by sharing his experience, expertise and network to help recruit and represent promising young players.

“Samuel is one of the greatest strikers ever to play the game and he is driven to ensure that his off-the-pitch achievements can match the success he attained during his remarkable playing career,” said Simon Oliveira, Managing Director, KIN Partners.

“We are delighted that he has placed his trust in KIN to represent his future interests and we welcome him to our family. We’re excited to build upon the amazing philanthropic and purpose-driven work he has already supported and aim to deliver professional and commercial opportunities that reflect his iconic status.”

Eto’o serves as an ambassador for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and has also established the Samuel Eto’o Foundation, which aims to protect disadvantaged young people in Africa by providing emergency aid and encouraging education, social inclusion and health awareness. It also runs a Football Academy, whose alumni includes Ajax goalkeeper André Onana.

The four-time African player of the year supported a variety of causes during his career, including UNICEF and FIFA-led humanitarian campaigns. He has also been a passionate anti-racism advocate, having been subjected to racial abuse on multiple occasions throughout his career.

Eto’o said: “I had the pleasure and fortune to be part of many great teams in my career and I am delighted to join another one at KIN Partners. The leadership team instinctively understand my hopes and dreams for the future, and I have total faith in their vision, expertise and support as I embark on new personal and professional goals.”

Onur Yegenoglu, Head of Sport, KIN Partners, added: “Samuel is an iconic figure who is known and respected by the entire football family, and beyond. We are privileged to be partnering with him and thrilled to add the knowledge and insight of a player who achieved so much in the game to our business.”

Eto’o joins a talent player roster at KIN Partners which includes Manchester City and Germany star, Ilkay Gündogan, who linked-up with the agency earlier this year, and more than 60 footballers across Europe.

Since its foundation in 2013, KIN Partners has worked with the likes of David Beckham, Usain Bolt and Neymar Jr.
