The Professional Fighters League has announced two major back-to-back 2022 playoffs will be hosted in Cardiff and London this summer in partnership with music and entertainment promoter Live Nation. UK MMA fans will be able to watch the PFL’s win-and-advance season format live for the first time.

The 2022 PFL Playoffs will kick off in New York City on Friday 5th August at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, before the league heads over the Atlantic to Cardiff on Saturday 13th August at Motorpoint Arena, with the final playoff event taking place at London’s Copper Box Arena on Saturday 20th August.

“We’re thrilled to announce our international partnership with Live Nation as the world’s top music and entertainment promoter makes its move into the world’s fastest-growing sport,” said PFL CEO, Peter Murray.


Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur will face LaLiga’s Sevilla FC in a friendly match as part of the North London-based team’s pre-season tour of South Korea later this year. The sides will meet at the Suwon World Cup Stadium on July 16th.

Spurs’ tour of South Korea is being sponsored by ecommerce company Coupang. The Seoul-based company, which operates a number of online services, is broadcasting the matches domestically on its subscription streaming service Coupang Play. The Pitch International agency is also working with Spurs and Coupang to help arrange the tour.


Audio-on-demand network Crowd Network has teamed up with Sport Social Podcast Network (Sport Social) to connect Crowd’s most popular shows to Sport Social’s growing library of sports podcasts.

As part of the agreement, The Joe Marler Show and Geraint Thomas Cycling Club will officially join the network from 30th May. Crowd will continue to produce both shows, with Sport Social supporting commercialisation of the podcasts.


The Jockey Club has announced that British jeweller Boodles will sponsor the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2023 and 2024, when the iconic contest celebrates its centenary. In addition to its support of the Cheltenham Gold Cup Boodles also extends its sponsorship of the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at The Festival, which it has put its name to since 2018, for a further two years and gains further sponsorship rights across The Jockey Club.

After enjoying a record attendance this year, the 2023 running of the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup takes place on St Patrick’s Day and the great race celebrates its centenary in 2024, so I am sure there are some truly memorable days ahead.”


Fantasy football app SPITCH has announced the appointment of Blueprint Sports & Entertainment to manage its public relations and media activations in the UK. The hire, which comes following a competitive pitch process, is immediate and will see Blueprint Sports & Entertainment commence work on the 2022/23 season long strategy.
