Former Wasserman sports agent Simon Bayliff has launched Areté, representing athletes, brands and teams including cyclist Mark Cavendish, Norwich and England U21’s Nathan Redmond, as well as Commonwealth double gold winning triathlete, Jodie Stimpson.
According to CEO and founder Simon Bayliff - who has represented global talent including David Beckham, Alan Shearer, Michael Owen and Jack Wilshere - Areté will specialise in three key areas; talent management, sponsorship consultation and brand management.
Bayliff said: “We are delighted to launch Areté. Our core strength is having a dynamic, passionate and creative team, with industry-specific expertise, that produce bespoke management, marketing and commercial solutions for our clients. We look forward to working very closely with our athletes, brands and teams in the coming years.”
Bayliff is joined at Areté by former Wasserman colleague, Jonathan Beckett, who have previously worked together with sporting talent, rights holders and associated blue chip consumer brands across football, cycling, rugby and Olympic sport.
Mark Cavendish added: “I’m super excited to join the team at Areté. I have worked with Simon and Jonathan for over five years and their deep understanding of professional sport, building brands and attention to detail means I can focus on my cycling whilst they take care of the rest.”
