Slazenger has announced that it will continue as official tennis ball supplier to The Championships, Wimbledon, continuing its 113 year partnership for an additional four years.
The agreement, known as the longest standing commercial partnership in sport, will see Slazenger provide canvas, umpire chairs, nets and tennis balls for The Championships and the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) all year round.
Oliver Gray, brand manager, Slazenger, commented: “Slazenger is extremely proud to have been the official ball supplier of The Championships, Wimbledon for the past 113 years.
“It’s the longest commercial partnership in sport and it’s an association that has seen Slazenger become synonymous with the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world. We’re naturally delighted to extend our relationship with the Championship, Wimbledon”.
Slazenger ambassador and former British number one Tim Henman added: “Some of my greatest on court memories come from playing at Wimbledon. Many of the highs and lows I’ve experienced on Centre Court have come with a Slazenger racket and ball in hand, so it’s difficult to imagine The Championships, Wimbledon without Slazenger and vice-versa.
“It’s great to see such a long standing partnership continue”.
Mick Desmond, commercial and media director at the AELTC, stated: “We are delighted to continue our relationship with Slazenger. The partnership is a perfect reflection of the prestige and longevity of The Championships, Wimbledon.
“We look forward to working with Slazenger again at this year’s championships, and for the three years thereafter”.
