Sport digital specialist Snack Media now claims to represent the largest independent online rugby network, having expanded its existing portfolio of 350 sports websites by securing Rugbypass.com and the RugbyPass Network.
The announcement coincides with the start of the 2018 Autumn Internationals and comes ahead of a busy 2019 calendar, which will include the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
The new partnership with RugbyPass.com, Rugby365.com, RugbyOnslaught.com and RugbyDump.com will see Snack Media’s total number of rugby monthly unique users surpass the three million mark over nine separate sites.
Snack Media, which currently engages with over 26 million sports fans per month, will also benefit from RugbyPass’ global team of original content producers experienced in developing rugby editorial, shows and podcasts.
As part of the new deal, the company has also secured the RugbyPass Index (RPI), a rugby ranking tool that uses big data and artificial intelligence to rank teams and players.
Niall Coen, founder and CEO of Snack Media, commented: “We are delighted that Rugby Pass have joined the network due to their quality of content, willingness and flexibility to work with brands as well as reach. As a result, I’m very proud that Snack Media are now one of the largest independent Rugby fan networks in the world.”
Tim Martin, CEO and co-founder of RugbyPass added: “RugbyPass has seen tremendous audience growth in the UK, Ireland and internationally and we are excited, heading into a Rugby World Cup year, to partner with brands, agencies and media partners alike to develop new content and digital media solutions that reach millions of global rugby fans.”
