20 Years – Excellence – Evolution
The Sport Industry Awards 2021 – celebrating its 20th anniversary - has officially opened for entries, marking a period of continued excellence and, importantly, new evolution within the sport industry.
The Sport Industry Awards, year in and year out, celebrate the immense work done around the sector, and while the world has changed and the entire industry faces new realities, it’s important to stop and share in the successes we’ve all had.
This year, the Sport Industry Awards 2021 seeks a more hopeful, vibrant and inclusive industry, and the categories echo this.
Highly relevant new opportunities to enter have been introduced, including the Sport Podcast Award and the International Creativity Award, to mirror changes to the way we work, innovate and engage.
Others, meanwhile, have been adapted to reflect the challenges we’ve faced, most notably the (Virtual) Event of the Year, because – well, obviously.
Despite this, though, many categories return to once again, including the Agency and Young Agency of the Year awards, the Campaign of the Year in association with YouGov Sport (an amalgamation of the International and UK Campaign of the Year categories), and the newly-titled Brand or Sponsor of the Year in association with Wiggin.
There will also be the prestigious industry recognition that comes with the Judges Awards this year including the Coutts Lifetime Achievement Award, The Integrity and Impact Award founded by Dow Jones Sports Intelligence, the Leadership in Sport Award, and the Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award. New for 2021, also included amongst the Judges Awards are Sport Organisation of the Year in association with AXA XL and Media Organisation of the Year.
The format of the night itself (scheduled for 9th June 2021) will be announced nearer the time – as the opportunities to ensure the biggest celebration possible become more clear – but as the Sport Industry Awards celebrate 20 years of rewarding you it promises to be one not to be missed.
On top of all of this, as well as celebrating the incredible work the industry has continued to produce and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead, we will take the opportunity to indulge in your fantastic achievements from years gone by on the 20th anniversary of your Sport Industry Awards.
Together, we’ll be celebrating two decades of work that has propelled the UK sport industry to world-class heights, and asking which you think is the best, with more to be revealed soon.
Sport Industry Group Managing Director, Alex Coulson, said:
“The world has changed, and the sport industry has changed with it, but that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped working and while the stadia and arenas around the world fell silent, it was our industry that found new ways to bring the noise. That is where the Sport Industry Awards 2021 come in.
“It’s been inspiring to see the resilience and creativity of our sector. We want to support the work you’ve done, raise it up, and celebrate the intelligent ways in which you’ve pivoted, innovated and fought to deliver it.
"Making the Official Shortlist, let alone winning, at the Sport Industry Awards is a phenomenal achievement and we aim to create an inclusive Awards that showcases your resourcefulness. This year we’ve all had to adapt so the Judges will be looking to reward everyone of all size and scale, that have still come out and reimagined what sport can deliver.
“The Sport Industry Awards 2021 will reflect the transformational period and bring plenty of excitement about what lies ahead. We’ve also got a few fun things in store still to come, so can’t wait to bring the celebration back in 2021.”
