Thomas Lyte, the Official Awards Supplier of the BT Sport Industry Awards, has formed a new strategic alliance with ÉPICO Studios in the United States to create custom-designed, first-class trophies, awards and medals – beginning with the 2014 Guinness International Champions Cup trophy, won by Manchester United earlier this week.
The new trophy was presented to United and manager Louis Van Gaal as the winners of the preseason football tournament, played across 13 venues in the Unites States and Canada with the final match held in Miami’s Sun Life Stadium between Manchester United and Liverpool FC.
‘I am delighted to expand our relationship with ÉPICO Studios,’ said Andrew Jones, general manager of Thomas Lyte.
‘Thomas Lyte and ÉPICO Studios have formed a business partnership and our joint aim is very simple, namely, to increase the business for Thomas Lyte trophies and awards in the North American sports marketplace.’
Rich Levy, founder and creative director for ÉPICO Studios, commented: ‘After witnessing the success of last year’s inaugural edition of the International Champions Cup, we are excited to evolve with the tournament’s design of an iconic trophy for the world’s top clubs competing these last few weeks.’
‘We love helping to build a precious piece of silverware for Relevent Sports that these clubs compete for, and we hope that raising the trophy on August 4 gives the champions a boost in their domestic league.”’
