Anthony Joshua has joined Under Armour in a three-year partnership, with the deal including training and in-ring apparel as well as footwear for the boxer and his support team.
The undefeated 26-year-old will face IBF heavyweight world champion Charles Martin - also undefeated - on 9th April at The O2 for the IBF title, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
At 23, Joshua won Olympic super-heavyweight gold during the 2012 Olympics and turned professional the following year. His record stands at a 15-0-0, with 15 knock-outs, to establish himself as the number two ranked heavyweight in British boxing.
The Watford-born boxer joins a roster of Under Armour athletes, including 2013 Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, Manchester United footballer Memphis Depay, NBA player Stephen Curry, American footballer Tom Brady and skier, Lindsey Vonn.
“Success only comes from investing time and effort in everything you do – something I hold close to my heart. With the same values, Under Armour is the ideal partner to help me achieve this and I’m proud to have them on my team,” said Anthony Joshua.
“Having Under Armour in my corner is a huge show of support from one of the world’s leading sports brands. I couldn’t ask for a better partner to help my performances, whether I’m training or in the ring; I’ll relish every challenge we’ll face in the future.”
Chris Bate, VP and managing director Europe, Under Armour, added: “Anthony Joshua encapsulates what our brand is about. He’s a man that has achieved greatness, and will continue to do so, through relentless passion, drive and determination.
“From the first sparring session to the last bell, Anthony will have our innovative footwear, apparel and training tools at his disposal. We’re proud to help Anthony every step of the way, as he establishes himself as one of the world’s greatest boxers.”
