Virgin Money has extended its title sponsorship of the London Marathon in a five year deal through to 2020.
As part of the deal, the event will continue to be known as the Virgin Money London Marathon.
The financial services group started its partnership with the London Marathon in 2010 and both parties set a £250m fundraising target. To date, the amount raised has hit over £315m.
The next Virgin Money London Marathon is due to take place on 24th April 2016.
Jayne-Anne Gadhia, chief executive of Virgin Money, said: “We are proud to support this record-breaking fundraising feat through Virgin Money Giving [the company’s online charity fundraiser], which has just hit its sixth birthday. Virgin Money Giving doesn’t take a penny in profit and that means so much more money goes directly on to the charities.”
Hugh Brasher, event director of the London Marathon, added: “Our partnership with Virgin Money has been ground-breaking in its fundraising and we’re delighted that it will now continue to our 40th race in 2020. We look forward to creating more history together.”
