World Netball has revealed a new ‘Your Netball World’ mosaic as part of its countdown to the 2023 Netball World Cup.
The mosaic, filled with over 1400 inspirational stories from athletes, officials and grassroots netball players from around the world, aims to unite the sport ahead of the event.
Featuring messages from 30 countries, the initiative includes names such as England Commonwealth Games gold medallists Beth Cobden and Eboni Usoro-Brown, as well as former England player and current Scotland head coach Tamsin Greenway.
Eboni Usoro-Brown, England Commonwealth Games gold medallist, said: “Netball is my passion, it’s a sport that I’ve grown up playing and it has presented me with some of the best moments of my life.
“It’s my safe place, and I cherish every opportunity the sport has afforded to me.”
The initiative marks the start of the two-year countdown to the Netball World Cup, which is set to take place in South Africa.
World Netball has also announced that it will appoint a new ‘Courage Ambassador’ - who will have an official role at the South Africa tournament, alongside fellow ambassadors, who will be globally recognised athletes, officials, and sporting figures from around the world.
