Co-Founder, One Young World
Kate Robertson is the co-founder of One Young World and former Global President of Havas. Kate is passionate about unleashing the potential of young leaders and advocating for shared human values.
Kate grew up in apartheid South Africa and was inspired by the leadership of Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. She resolved to place equality, opportunity and transparency at the core of her professional values.
After moving to the UK, Kate rose through the ranks of Havas Worldwide. She was promoted to Global President in 2013 and became the most powerful woman in the advertising industry worldwide. In 2014 she was honoured as an Industry Icon by Advertising Week and received an Honorary Doctorate from Lausanne Business School alongside Unilever’s Paul Polman.
In 2009 she co-founded One Young World, the premier global forum for the most talented young leaders creating positive change. The annual One Young World Summit brings together 1,300 young leaders from over 190 countries. At the Summit, delegates are counselled by luminaries including Kofi Annan, Bob Geldof, Desmond Tutu, Mary Robinson and Bill Clinton. No youth dominated event other than the Olympic Games brings together as many nationalities as the One Young World Summit. Since 2010, 14.6 million people have been impacted by One Young World Ambassador-led initiatives.
